Antique / vintage ring. 18k yellow gold, jade and diamonds. Made during the Retro period, circa 1940's. Measurements: Weight is 11.8 grams. US size 5 1/4 (resizable). The jade rises 14mm above the level of the finger. Description : Interesting design that is somewhat symbolic of an Egyptian plant such as the lotus. The shank fans out into 3 broadening petal-like lobes that hold the bezel in place. The bezel, which works on a number of levels is in green jade and gold with diamond highlights - again having an organic feel that is reminiscent of Egyptian papyrus plants. It consists of a half circle composed of cylindrical stripes of alternating jade and gold that run back to front along the finger. Way down, almost forming part of the shoulder of the shank is a half-circle of pave set diamonds that echoes the upper, jade section, but creates added interest on the sides and draws the eyes outwards, to avoid a narrow focus. The golden shoulder form part of the interest of the bezel. Marks and Metal: N.16 and K18 engraved in the shank. Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer. Independent appraisal available to new owner.
