R. Lalique Antique Glass Pendant Storks Cignognes 1919 Gold Chain Unisex (7123)
Antique Vintage Rene Lalique pendant. Made of glass with gold chain. Made in France early 2th century (see below). Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.
Measurements: Total weight is 28.0 grams. Length is 2 1/8 inches (5.5cm). Height is 1 7/8 inches (4.7cm). Chain is approximately 29.5 inches (75cm) long. Description : Created in 1919 by Rene Lalique, this is one of his most beautiful and elegant designs. Cignognes in French are Storks and in classic Art Nouveau taste, three birds are swooping and flying; overlapping, curving, with outspread wings and elegant necks and long beaks. The shape of the pendant is a T with an arch in the center of the upper bar. This rare model was only made in clear glass. It appears in Marcilhac, page 574 and is number 1635. (Felix Marcilhac compiled the catalogue of Rene Lalique's creations). It was discontinued in the 1940's. It is rare to find this model, especially in such good, wearable condition. The pendant has an attached, long, gold chain. It is not marked, but when acid tested appears to be 9ct gold.
Marks and Metal: The side of the pendant is embossed R. LALIQUE.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
