Pomellato Tabou Ring Purple Amethyst 18k Gold Silver Italian Designer (5951)

Modern, Designer signed ring. 18k yellow gold, silver and amethysts. Made in Italy by Pomellato. No significant age. This design is called Tabou. 

Measurements: Approximately US size 6.5. Weighs 10.0 grams.

 A sleek gold band, wider at the shoulders, narrowing to the back, it has the appearance of a pair of horns or trumpets at the shoulders. Here it meets the bezel, which is a wonderful piece of sculpture in the round, the silver-set amethysts set like fruit of various sizes in a continuous pattern over the textured surface. The shape metamorphosizes depending on the angle of vision: from above it is oval, from some angles more fruit-like, and from the underside, almost round. The top of the bezel is set with a large, oval, faceted amethyst of a wonderful deep purple color. The contrast between the gold shoulders and the silver is stunning and works wonderfully with the purple amethysts. Great workmanship, design and overall look. 

Marks: the ring is fully hallmarked with the name of the company, Pomellato signed on the outside. Inside the shank is a serial number C900001345, a lozenge for 925 silver, a lozenge for 750 gold (18k); a star 1970 AL.
