French Chinese bracelet gold enamel certified natural jade Art Deco bangle(5860)

Vintage Art Deco bracelet. 14k gold, certified jade and enamel. Made in France for the Asian / Chinese market, 1920's. Comes with a certificate from the Laboratoire Francais De Gemmologie / French Gemmological Laboratory stating that the plaque consists of natural, untreated, jadeite jade. Certificate in both French and Engish.

Measurements: Length 7 3/4 inches (20cm). Weighs 47.3 grams. Plaque is approximately 1 3/8 inches (35mm) X 7/8 inch (22mm) wide.

The bracelet of wide gold openwork with a distinctly Asian style - looking something like stylised Chinese calligraphy alternating with round openwork disks. The disks and the sections closest to the central jade plaque are very richly enamelled in typical Art Deco fashion. Enamelling in bright red, deep blue and with light green highlights. Quality of the workmanship is outstanding. The jade plaque on a gold mount is attached on either side via hinges to the rest of the bracelet. This ensures that the jade plaque will sit correctly on the arm of the wearer. The jade is of a bright green. It is carved to depict birds and foliage. The jade is of a very homogonous color (almost no variations in color). The certificate describing the jade will accompany the bracelet to the new owner. Tongue in groove clasp. There is also a safety chain that is missing a link on one side (easily replaced).

Marks: There is a somewhat faded French hallmark for 14k gold on the clasp.
