Earrings Antique French 18k Gold Acorns Day Night 19C (4744)

Antique Art Nouveau / Victorian earrings. 18k gold. Made in France circa 1860.

Total length of each earring is 2 1/4 inches. Combined weight is 10.9 grams.

Exceptional and rare: Day and night earrings. The upper part separates from the larger lower parts and can be worn for a simpler look by day, with a more elegant and dramatic combination of both parts for night. Of course, both parts can be worn by day. Both sections are in the form of acorns, with the lower being fully in the round. The modeling is highly naturalistic and very detailed. It takes a magnifying glass to see the fine details of the foliage. The lower part of the earrings swing freely as the wearer moves, the gold glinting & gleaming as it catches the light.

Earrings are hallmarked for 18k gold on the wires and on the loops.
