Early 18C Georgian Necklace Pendant Gold & Diamonds (4545)
Early 18C Georgian Necklace Pendant Gold & Diamonds (4545)
Antique, Reversible Georgian Necklace / Pendant. Gold and Diamonds. Made early 18th century - 1700 - 1750.
Measurements: Just under 2inches (50mm) long. Largest diamond is about 5mm long (site). Weighs 9 grams.
Made of high grade gold (at least 22k), silver highlights and set with diamonds. Clearly very old - the gold is pulled around the diamonds, which are very simply cut. Extra 'bling' is attained by the use of silver stars and highlights. Wonderful, extremely fine scrolling gold wirework around the rich settings of the diamonds. The backs are foiled and the workmanship on the backs of the flowers is possibly even more beautiful than that of the front. Clearly, they are made to be seen, making the pendant reversible.
No hallmarks - typical of this age.
Good condition - quite amazing considering the age and delicacy of the piece. A modern, totally unrelated 9ct gold chain is included for convenience of the buyer.
