Antique Edwardian coronation brooch. Sterling silver and guilloche enamel. Made in England, 1902 by Charles Horner, one of the most famous jewellers and enamellers of the period.

Measurements: Weight is 3.9 grams. Approximately 1 3/4 inches (45mm) long.

Description : Made specifically for the coronation of Edward VII in 1902. A knife-edge bar of silver holds a ring, adorned with beautiful turquoise guilloche enamel with embossed EDWARD VII 1902 on the surface. Within is a beautifully modelled portrait of the new king wearing his crown, very royal, easily identified. Extremely fine detail from the droopy moustache and mutton-chop sideburns to the ring of crosses on the crown.

Marks and Metal: Hallmarked with C.H for Charles Horner, lion passant for sterling silver, badge mark for Newcastle and date mark 'A'.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Unlike most Edwardian coronation brooches, the enamel of this brooch is in good shape. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
