Estate Vintage Cartier stalking panther brooch pin. 18k white gold and diamonds. Made in France circa 1990's.
Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.

Measurements: Weight is 4.5 grams. Length is 1 1/4 inches 4cm.

Description : Brooch, tie or lapel pin. Exquisitely made stalking panther - the ultimate symbol of Cartier for decades ever since the meeting in the 1910's of Louis Cartier and Jeanne Toussaint, who he called 'little panther'.
Long and sleek, the panther cat is clearly stalking, head thrust forward and tail extended behind with a stylish curl at the end. There were many models of panthers made by Cartier, including those famously worn by Wallace Simpson, Duchess of Windsor. While small in size, this one is more elegant than most. Modelled in white gold and very finely pave set with diamonds it is a gleaming masterpiece. Color and brightness trump size.
A sturdy pin at the back for inserting into a tie, lapel, sleeve, shoulder or hat, is secured by an arching disk.
This brooch is truly unisex and can be worn by a man or a woman. It is a wonderful example of the superior workmanship, quality and design that made the name of Cartier synonymous with great luxury.

Marks and Metal: On the top edge, signed Cartier 750 957596 (serial number). Along the back leg, a lozenge with an M, a man's head facing right and 750. The back of the catch for the pin is signed Cartier with 750 (for 18k gold). Post is also hallmarked.

Condition: Good. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
