Art Deco Pair Dress Clips Brooch Convertible Plat 18k Gold Diamonds Zircons(6939)

Antique Art Deco convertible double dress clip / brooch. Platinum, 18ct gold, diamonds, natural blue zircons. Made in London, England and retailed by The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, by Appointment to His Majesty the King.

Measurements: Weight is 41.1 grams. Each clip is approximately 1 3/8inches (3.5cm) long (2 6/8 inches total). 3.59ct diamonds. 7.80 ct blue zircons.

Description : Convertible double dress clips that can be worn as a single brooch or double brooch. Each half is triangular in shape. Geometric shaped gems reflecting the Art Deco period, are set at varying heights in an openwork design. Gleaming gems of contrasting silvery whites and almost electric blue of the natural zircons. The contrast and sense of movement is not only provided by the gleam of the gems and their colors, but by the rolling pave set zircons that lead the eye from one section across the jewel to the other side.

The clips are held within a classic, original, fitted box retailed by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company (later joined to Garrards), one of the top London jewellers, entitled to carry the King's Coat of Arms. The velvet fitted bottom lifts to reveal a rectangular compartment that holds two brooch fittings: one so that the clips can be worn as a single brooch and one for wearing a single section alone.

Design and workmanship are superb. Quality of the highest order in every way.

Marks and Metal:One of the clips is marked for both Platinum (PT) and 18ct gold. The fitted box is embossed inside the lid with the mark for The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company 112 Regent St London W and with the Royal Coat of Arms under BY APPOINTMENT TO H.M. THE KING.
