Antique Art Deco Brooch Dachshund Dog Platinum Gold Diamonds w Appraisal(6546)
Measurements: Approximately 1 1/8 - 1 1/4 inches (32mm) long. Weighs 3.5 grams. 0.886ct diamonds.
Description : Fabulous subject and fabulous workmanship. This little Sausage dog brooch has it all. Short little legs, long snout and very long tail and body, the brooch depicts a Dachshund in profile, the better to show off his great features. The entire body is pave set with diamonds as only the Art Deco jewelers could set them - exquisitely fine workmanship. The collar is platinum with no gems. The eye is a tiny ruby. The pin at the back with c-clasp is in gold. We can almost see his litle paws scurrying along. Dachshunds are one of the holy grails for many jewellery collectors and of course, for dog lovers.
Marks: clasp is hallmarked with French eagle head for 18k gold. Platinum was electronically tested.
Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
As you may know, I go to Paris to search out rare and unusual pieces which I can examine myself to make sure they are really great antique jewels. Finding these special pieces is increasingly difficult, but here I lucked out - the most fun little doggy and perfect workmanship. Definately worth the trip.
