Antique Vintage Art Deco Ring Diamond Ruby Natural Pearls GIA certif Gold(6704)
Antique / Vintage Art Deco ring. GIA certified natural pearls, small rose cut diamonds and calibre cut rubies. 14k gold and platinum or silver (too small an amount to test). Made circa 1930.
Measurements: Weight is 3.2 grams. US size 5 - can be resized. Pearls range in size from 4.18 to 3.19mm.
Description : This ring is all about the wonderful Modern, Art Deco design. A central flower with swathes of diamonds and rubies swirling above and below. Then, there are the beautiful natural pearls, pear shaped with beautiful lustre and glow. Totally assymetric, bands of gems twist and turn over and under one another. Diamonds setting off and playing second fiddle to the lustrous pearls. 6 of the pearls are salt water and two are sweet water. Please see the GIA certificate for details. Gold has a pinkish tone. When we bought the ring, some of the pearls had come loose, as can be seen in the GIA certificate. They did test all of the pearls and we had them restored to their correct positions. These are the original pearls, as tested by the GIA.
Marks and Metal: No marks on the metal. Gold was acid tested. It was typical to set diamonds in either silver, or more likely during this period, platinum. There is no area big enough to test.
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
