Antique Victorian Ring 18k Gold Silver Turquoise Diamonds French Romantic (7088)

Antique Victorian ring. 18k gold, silver, turquoise and rosecut diamonds. Made in France circa 1850-1900.

Measurements: Weight is 2.2 grams. US size 3 1/2.

Description : Possibly made for a young girl, this small ring looks beautiful on anyone's finger. It is composed of 4 forget-me-not or daisy flowers, symbolic of romance and innocence. The flowers back up one against the other, giving a rounded, full and very organic look. The color of the turquoise is no longer totally uniform (as we would expect of stones of this age), but together make for a lovely and charming tone of turquoise blue. The flowers arch around the finger and lead to shoulders with gold balls of decreasing size leading away from the bezel. The rest of the band is simply ridged. Minute diamonds form the centers of each flower (too small to measure or test). Rings of this sort are increasingly difficult to find. They are as charming and wearable today as they were 150 years ago.

Marks and Metal: french eagle mark on the outside of the shank indicates 18k gold.
