Antique Victorian Ring 18k Gold Diamonds Toi Moi Crossover Engagement Ring (7180)

Antique Victorian era ring. Diamonds, gold and a little silver. Made in France, 19th century. Perfect as engagement or bridal ring.

Measurements: Weight is 6.50 grams. Diamonds weigh 2.01ct. US size 7. can be resized.

Description : Crossover rings, known as toi-moi (you and me), in France were very popular during the 2nd half of the 19th century. This is a particularly fabulous example. The diamonds appear larger than the carat measurement and really pop on the finger. Diamonds set in silver, as was typical of the period to show them off to best effect in gas or candle light. The main body of the mount and generous, widening shank are 18k gold. Beautifully made and fabulously versatile and wearable today.

Marks and Metal: outside of the shank has French eagle head for 18k gold as well as another mark that we cannot read. Gold was also electronically tested to ensure metal purity.
