Antique Victorian ring. 14ct yellow gold, emerald, diamonds. Made circa 1860-80. European.
Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman. Independent appraisal.
Measurements: Weight is 11.0 grams. US size 9.5.
Description : The top of the ring (bezel), is a rectangular lively green emerald surrounded by rose-cut diamonds, set in gold. Raised above the level of the finger by looping trellices.
The shoulders and hoop of the ring are magnificently modelled with openwork sculptural foliage and scrolls that go all the way around the hoop.
Very strong design often associated with fancy bishop's rings and rings of the nobility. It was very possibly a man's ring, but can be worn by men or women.
Great workmanship and as wearable to day as it was well over 100 years ago.
Marks and Metal: No marks. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
Independent appraisal available to new owner upon request (value 9250.00).
