Classic 19th century French exquisite jewelry making. From the elegant, elongated design in parts, to the wonderful rare pink tourmalines, highlighted with diamonds, this is a marvelous item. Typical of French ingenuity and workmanship of the day, the jewel doubles as either a pendant to hang from a chain or ribbon, or a brooch. With the removal of a gold loop, the length and appearance can be altered yet again. Floral theme with scrolling bars of silver, in which diamonds were typically set, terminating in diamonds that imitate buds. Gold back. Loops allow parts to swing as the wearer moves.Great design, great workmanship and great materials.
Marks: there are a lot of hallmarks on the piece: there are oval hallmarks on the drop, the top flowers and the pin. The marks indicate both 18k gold and silver. A kite-shaped lozenge indicates the maker, with initials G and R flanking a tulip-like flower.
Condition: good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions - we will do our best to answer. An independent appraisal is available to the buyer.
