Antique Victorian Micro Mosaic Earrings Pendant Micromosaic Dove Set (4597)

Antique Victorian Micromosaic suite, consisting of earrings and pendant on a chain. Made in Italy, circa 1870-80.

Measurements: Each piece approximately 1 1/2 inches long.

Earrings are elongated kite shaped; pendant similarly elongated, but round at the bottom. Backgrounds of red, white and blue. The widest part of each item has a round reserve with deep red tesserae in which a white dove flutters. The dove on the pendant holds an olive branch in it's beak. Fine detail from eyes to subtle variations of shade in the colouring. Set in silver-coloured metal.

Pendant comes with a sterling silver chain (marked 935 on the clasp).

Condtiion is generally very good. As the 'photos show, there are one or two spots where the tesserae do not meet exactly, but it doesn't look as though any of them are missing.
