Antique Victorian Napoleon III locket pendant. 18k yellow gold, natural pearls and turquoise. Made in France, circa 1860 - 1880. Measurements: Weight is 23.0 grams. Length, not including bale is 1 1/2 inches (4cm). Description : Oval locket to hold a memento or picture of a loved one. Hinged on the left, with a small clasp on the right to facilitate opening and closing securely. Rich gold inside and at the back. The front is beautifully pave set with small natural pearls and natural turquoise beads. A double row of turquoise follows the outer perimeter with a pearl ground within. Raised in the center of the pearls is a gold outlined star, pave set with cabochon turquoise - the biggest in the middle and decreasing in size as the rays or arms of the star become more distant. Beautiful quality workmanship and materials. Makes a perfect and very romantic gift for a loved one or member of your family. Marks and Metal: tiny loop that connects the bale to the pendant with French hallmarks. Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
