Antique, Victorian earrings. At least 14k gold. Made 19th century, circa 1860-80, possibly in the Netherlands.

Measurements: Earrings are slightly under 2 1/2 inches (6cm) long, not including the loops. Weigh 8.6grams.

Description: Stunning long, urn / amphora shapes, suspending a golden globe from a pair of loops at the bottom - allowing them to swing freely as the wearer moves. A loop at the top, where the handle would join an urn, suspends another globe and a long tear-shaped drop.

Like many Georgian and early Victorian jewels, these earrings are hollow and therefore, very light, considering their large size. Makes them very comfortable to wear.

Marks and Metal: We found no hallmarks to indicate origin, but the 90-year-old lady I bought them from told me that she got them in Holland (the Netherlands).

Condition: there are small dings as is to be expected in earrings of this age and delicacy. Mentioned only for the sake of accuracy - one would not expect earrings of over 150 years old to be mint. No damage/restoration found. I consider the condition to be good considering their age.
