Antique Victorian Earrings Etruscan Revival Gold Garnet Ear Pendants (6691)
Antique Victorian Earrings Etruscan Revival Gold Garnet Ear Pendants (6691)
Measurements: A little over 1 inch (3cm) long. Weight is 3.3 grams.
Description : Earrings consist of a trio of round gold domes or half globes, graduated in size. Each part adorned with gold wirework, typical of the Etruscan Revival period and style. In the center, at the apex of each dome is a rhodolite garnet, beautifully pinkish in color, which is what gives these gems their name (rose colored). The upper, smallest section is connected to the others via a pair of loops, which allow the long drops to swing and sway as the wearer moves. Wires are easy to insert and comfortable to wear and almost certainly replacements. Highly wearable and very comfortable especially for people with sensitive ears. Understated elegance.
Marks: As is to be expected of jewelry of this period, there are no marks on the earrings. We acid tested the gold to ensure metal purity.
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. You might want to polish the metal a little, but a purist would leave it as is. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
