Antique Victorian Earrings 18k Gold Amethyst Long Ear Pendants French (6383)

Antique Victorian Earrings Ear Pendants. 18k Gold and amethysts. Made in France, 19th century.

Measurements: Approximately 1 7/8 inches (5.75cm) long. Weigh 8.1 grams.

Description : Long ear drops. A round surmount with gently faceted amethyst set in gold. A pair of short gold chains on either side meet in the center to support a small middle section, with a similar amethyst. Another pair of longer chains, reversed direction lead from the small middle amethyst and fork to connect on either side with the large tear-shaped drop. Amethysts are open at the back. Collette set with openwork bridge supports at the back. The original wires have been replaced with posts. Tres elegant.

Marks: Posts with French hallmarks.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Posts are not original to the earrings. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
