Antique Victorian Earrings 14k Gold Filigree Day Night Possibly Russian (6847)
Measurements: Weight is 5.3 grams. Length not including wires is a little over 1 1/4 inches (3.5cm).
Description : Torpedo or elongated-tear shaped earrings with tops that seperate from the elongated drops. Known as Day/Night earrings, these could be worn together or seperately, depending on the occasion. Surmounts with hinged wires have half globes with delicate cannetille filigree centers. Loops attach the drops, allowing them to swing and sway as the wearer moves. The rounded, elongated tear shapes are decorated with a squiggely, twisting, filigree rope design. Simple, yet very attractive and highly wearable.
Marks and Metal: Marks on the wires are totally illegible. Marks on the band at the narrow/top end of the torpedo appear to be 58 (approximately 14k). Acid testing stayed for 14k.
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
