During the 19th century, insect brooches were very popular and this bee is a lovely example of the genre, suitable for anyone to wear. Great quality workmanship, bright and attractive. At the time, there was sure to be symbolism attached to these insects, but most of the meaning was lost over the centuries.

Marks and Metal: No marks. Gold was electronically tested with a range of results mostly at least 18k. We will guarantee at least 14k to err on the side of caution.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
