Measurements: Weight is 39.3 grams. Approximately 7 1/2 inches (19cm) long. Bracelet a little over 1/2 inch wide (12mm). Clasp 1 inch wide (25mm). Garnet weighs 6.22ct. Diamonds weigh 0.72ct.

Description : Bracelet consists of overlapping, articulated lines of 18k gold loops, very closely connected. Parallel lines of diagonally set loops alternate with parallel lines in the opposite direction, giving a herring-bone appearance. The outer pairs of loops are polished gold, while the inner pair of loops are textured, adding to th interesting and varied effect. Supple, yet sturdy, the quality of the workmanship is excellent and we can see by the close-knit setting that the maker didn't spare any expense in making this wonderful bracelet.
Secure, tongue-in-groove clasp. A 14k clip section that fits into a groove in a wonderful jewelled oval. The center is a large, polished oval garnet, surrounded by concentric rings - a rope-twist gold border within a black enamel border. This in turn is surrounded by a ring of alternating gold flowers and diamonds. The diamonds are cut flat, as from the Renaissance era, and also as was the custom in previous centuries, set in silver.
The beautiful garnet is cut almost flat, with gentle faceting on the sides. It shows us the great quality of the gem with no inclusions to mar it's beautiful color and appearance.
Color of garnet is deep wine red, changing as the light catches it to show patches of pink or deep shade.
The flowers are modelled in full relief in gold, again showing that every detail was lavished on this jewel.
A thin gold safety chain for additional security.
While the bracelet is clearly a luxury item, what really wows is the exceptional gemset clasp. It is very rare to find gems of this quality, cut and set in this manner as well as this qualty of workmanship. Utterly beautiful, it is as timeless and wearable today as it was in long-ago centuries.

Marks and Metal: Electronically tested with Auracle AGT3: bracelet 18k gold ; clasp (part with gems) 14k gold. As we have learned, many items in Budapest were assayed many decades after the item was made. These later marks were placed on the tongue of the clasp, and include an H (for Hungary) and a mark that includes a star, letters and lozenge.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
Independent appraisal available to new owner upon request.
