Antique Victorian Bangle Bracelet 15ct Gold Turquoise Etruscan Revival (7156)

Antique Victorian cuff bangle bracelet. 15ct gold and turquoise. Most likely made in England, circa 1860 - 1870's.

Measurements: Weight is 35.1 grams. 2 1/4 inches across. Inner circumference very approximately 9 1/2 inches (24.5cm).

Description : Etruscan Revival bangle with filigree and granulation in emulation of pre-Roman civilisations. Cuff bangle with wide gold band rounding and broadening towards the top center. Top half is richly decorated with filigree and granulation as well as bright turquoise cabochons, which contrast wonderfully with the righ gold color. The upper circle with a half-globe of turquoise surrounded by concentric borders of gold in differing patterns, including a large ring of cabochon turquoise, each stone surrounded by looping, overlapping and raised gold filigree. The eye is further led around the bangle by cabochon turquoise at right angles to the center, each gem in a raised gold colette and surrounded by similar pointy-ovals of raised gold filigree and golden granules as further details. The design and workmanship are fabulous, combining a richness with a restraint. Utterly eye-catching and aesthetically pleasing. Strong hinge and tongue-in-groove clasp. Additional gold safety chain for security.

Marks and Metal: No marks. Gold acid tested for a very strong 14k, which, being English, likely indicates 15ct.
