Antique Edwardian / Belle Epoque bracelet bangle. 14k gold, pink tourmaline, peridot and pearls. Made 1st quarter of 20th century. English Suffragette era - circa 1910-1918. Independent gemological appraisal.

Measurements: Weight is 11.6 grams. Approximately 7 3/4 inches (20cm) long.

Description : Beautiful, graceful and colorful bracelet. 3 parallel chains of gold links with alternating green peridot and pink tourmaline on the outer rows and alternating pearls and peridot on the inner row. Outer peridot are navette (boat) shaped with recangular, cushiony tourmaline pointing in the opposite direction. The middle row of peridot are round. This combination of beautiful colors was made only in this period and used to symbolise the suffragette movement. The Suffragette slogan Give Women the Vote was symbolised by green, white and violet. The latter was often substituted with pink, so we have green peridot, white pearls and pink/violet tourmaline. From the quality of this bracelet, we can assume that the original owner was a lady of means. The bracelet is as wearable to day as it was over 100 years ago and will look lovely with any outifit for a woman of any age.

Marks and Metal: No marks. Gold was acid tested and tests at least 14k, but is most likely 15ct, which was the United Kingdom standard at the time.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Clasp is possibly a replacement. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer. Independent gemological appraisal available to new owner.
