Antique Sterling Silver Card Menu Holders Dog Labrador Retriever Boxed Set(ID:5509)

Antique set of 4 menu card holders in the form of dogs - Retrievers / Labradors. Sterling Silver in fitted box. Sydney & Co. Made Birmingham England 1909. 

Measurements: Each dog is approximately 5.5cm long from tail to tip of his nose. Combined weight is 47.6grams. Ruler in photo is in inches.  

Wonderfully modelled dogs with rich detail to the realistic looking coats. Bright paste eyes. Semicircle on the left side of each dog for holding a menu card. Incredibly rare to find modelled dog menu holders. They come in a fitted box.  

Marks: each dog is hallmarked. Some of the hallmarks are slightly worn. Hallmarks are date letter k, town mark for Birmingham and lion for sterling silver. Maker's mark is S&Co, which we believe is for Sydney & Co.  

Condition: the dogs are in good condition with negligible wear commensurate with age.
