Antique Art Nouveau pendant. 18k yellow gold, carving and pearl. Made in France, 1908 by Paul Bonnaud.

Measurements: 2 inches (5cm) accross. Weighs 14.1 grams.

An oval carved relief of three young women of the late Victorian era, possibly 3 sisters or friends, believed to be a depiction of the 3 Graces. Mounted in an oval frame with overlapping flowers and whiplash scrolls. A golden triangle at the bottom leads to a swinging baroque pearl. The pearl is a replacement. Loops at the back for attaching a chain necklace.

The quality of the workmanship is excellent and the piece is beautifully and solidly made. It is identical to the necklace by Paul Bonnaud, shown in Alastair Duncan's book on The Paris Salons 1895-1914 page 78. The original has a chain necklace and a gold drop in place of the baroque pearl.

Marks: the French eagle mark for 18k gold on the back.

Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
