Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Caster w Acorn C1813 Stephen Adams Jr (5521)
Antique George III / Regency sugar salt pepper caster / castor. Sterling Silver. Made in London England 1813 by Stephen Adams Junr.
Measurements: approx 5 3/4 inches / 14.5cm long. Weighs 105.3grams. Ruler in picture in inches.
Very elegant caster. Baluster shaped standing on round foot. Narrow shaped leg. The cylindrically shaped top with a domed roof and beautiful acorn finial. Top pierced with each hole in a double engraved diamond shape. Besides the ridges of the silver and it's beautiful shape, there is no further decoration.
Hallmarks: hallmarks are on front of the caster and ridge of top. The hallmarks on the caster are: SA for maker Stephen Adams Jr; lion passant for sterling standard; leopard head for London; date letter 'S' and monarch's head facing right. Lid has SA and S marks.
Condition: Considering it's age, the caster is in good shape. There are small dings as is to be expected - see 'photo especially of foot. Minor wear commensurate with age.
