Antique Georgian Earrings ear Pendants 15k Gold Garnets English (5968)
Measurements: Length a little under 1 1/2 inches (approximately 35mm); weigh 6.0 grams.
Designed as a cluster or bunch of grapes with vine leaves. The surmounts are small, engraved vine leaves. Connecting to a series of gradated gold leaves alternating with pairs of pear-shaped garnets, symbolic of grapes or other fruit and ending in a small cluster of purple fruit at the bottom. The elements are connected by a series of loops and bars - the loops allow total flexibility, so that the individual elements swing and sway as the wearer moves. The gold bars at the back support and give security. Excellent workmanship. Gems are closed in gold at the back, typical of the Georgian era. Rhodolite garnets of a bright, sparkling purple. Gold with fine textured surface. Replaced ear wires make inserting and wearing the earrings easy and comfortable.
Marks: no marks, which is typical of this era. Gold was tested to confirm metal purity.
Condition:Good with minor wear, commensurate with age. Please see enlarged photos for details. Do not hesitate to ask questions, which we will do our best to answer.
