Antique Georgian earrings dangle ear pendants gold silver diamonds (7438)
Antique Georgian dangle drop earrings ear pendants. Gold, silver and diamonds. Made in English, circa 1820.
Measurements: Weight is 6.9 grams. length approximately 1 1/4 inches (3.3cm). Approximately 1ct diamonds in total.
Description : Classic, highly wearable earrings. Long dangle drops that make a large statement despite their relative comfortable weight.
Surmounts in the form of a 4-lobed flower with a colette-set diamond in the center. Petals in the form of tiny tulips.
A small pair of gold loops connect the drops to the tops. The loops allow great flexibility and movement so that the earrings will swing and sway as the wearer moves. Drops are square in shape, but openwork with curling stems supporting diamond set flowers and foliage in a beautifully balanced design. Metal and diamonds gleam and catch the eye.
Wires almost certainly later replacements, as with most Victorian earrings. They are easy to insert, comfortable to wear and their length adds security and safety to the earrings (so that they don't fall out easily).
Wonderfully versatile.
Marks and Metal: No marks, as is to be expected. Approximately 14k gold with silver tops- see Important note on Metals in yellow, below.
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. No sign of damage of any sort. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
