Antique Georgian Earrings Dangle 15ct Gold Pink Topaz C1800 England (6855)
Antique Georgian earrings / ear pendants. 15ct yellow gold and pink topaz.
Measurements: Weight is 2.8 grams. Approximately 3cm long (a little more than 1 inch). Description : Dainty dangle earrings in 3 parts: the surmounts are a triangle of gold globules attached to an oval pink topaz. This suspends a scalloped, scrolling ribbon of gold, undulating and meandering in a roughly diamond shape. This in turn suspends the drop, which is a larger, pear or tear - shaped pink topaz surrounded by golden globules on minute stalks and graduated in size. Topaz is closed at the back, typical of settings of the Georgian era. Edges of collette settings are crenelated. The earrings are fairly small and light weight, making them extremely comfortable to wear and versatile in usage. The pink is a lively bright color and there is a lot of added interest in the details. Simple wires are easy to insert. Like with most antique earrings, the wires are possibly replacements. Marks and Metal: No marks. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity. Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. One of the gold balls has been squished - shown in the last 'photo. A possible dangle under the earrings is absent (or never existed), the area also shown in the last picture.
