Measurements: Length, excluding the wires is a little over 1 1/2 inches (a little under 4cm). Weight is 5.4 grams.
Description : Long, dangling earrings or ear pendants. Upper section in the form of a flower with 5 petals. Each petal set with a tear-shaped amethyst gem. Fine cannetille wire work of filigree and granulation surrounds the petals. Loops connect the flower surmounts to elongated foliate drops. Coils and pyramids of gold filigree wirework with a central, elongate leav, surrounded by further cannetille and ending in a small flower centered by a square/cushion shaped emerald of wonderful bright green. Golden globules of various sizes add further details. Strong colors and contrast between bright gold, royal purple and superb shade of green add to interest and attraction and hint further at the garden or botanical theme.
This pair of earrings is a tour de force of great gems, fabulous workmanship and exceptional wearability. Their light weight and long wires make them easy to insert and very comfortable to wear. Stunning!
Marks and Metal: As is to be expected of jewelry of this period, there are no marks on the earrings.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Wires are most likely replacements, typical of earrings from this period. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
