Antique Etruscan Revival Brooch Gold Demantoid Garnets Amethyst Unisex (6851)

Antique Victorian Etruscan Revival bar brooch. 14k gold, demantoid garnets and amethyst. Made circa 1880.

Measurements: Weight is 3.3 grams. Length about 2 1/4 inches (a little over 5.5cm).

Description : Elegant, long and narrow bar brooch. The rectangular frame with scrolling filigree and granulation in cannetille Etruscan Revival design, which is as much about the negative spaces between the delicate gold wire work and different levels. The center has a tiny, but stunning cross formed by a collette-set amethyst with little demantoids at the cardinal points. Hinged pin and C-clasp are original and in good working order.

Marks and Metal: No marks. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity.
