Description : Flower-themed pendant necklace. Combines the colors of the Suffragette Movement of the early 20th century, Green, White, Violet (for Give Women the Vote) via the gems peridot, pearls and amethyst. Central open 5-petalled flower in gold set with pearls with a small gold ring connecting to a small pair of leaves, similarly set with pearls and finally the green, peridot drop, like a bud or foliage. This section is free to swing freely as the wearer moves. On either side of the central flower, thin gold ribbons, like curving twigs connect to flaring pairs of amethysts of a lovely deep purple color. These in turn lead to tri-foil foliage, set with pearls. Design and workmanship are quite beautiful as are the combination of colors, which is aesthetically stunning as well as symbolic and meaningful to the Women's Movement. Suffragette jewelry is rare and highly sought after. The necklace comes in its original, fitted box of a beautiful curved form, leather-covered, silk and velvet lined. Lid is embossed with name of retailer in Liverpool, Diamond Merchant in 24 Church Street and at Cheltenham and Southsea. The box has 3 tiers, which hold and display the necklace to beautiful effect.
Marks and Metal: Back of necklace has impressed 15ct mark.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
