Antique Earrings Gold Emeralds Ear Pendants Indian 22k Kundan Wedding (6433)
Measurements: A little under 2 inches (5cm) long, not including the wires. Weigh 13.0 grams.
Description : Fabulous, long, bright green and gold emerald earrings / ear pendants. Swirling 4-part motive with rich gold holding kundan cut and set emeralds, linked by chains and wires to wonderful oval emerald beads that swing and sway with the slightest movement of the wearer. One can esily imagine a Moghul Empress wearing these earrings. The wires may / may not be original (often the wires are replaced), but fortunately, are comfortable to insert and wear. Bright, cheerful and very rich looking. Great for partying and weddings.
Marks: Antique Indian jewelry was never hallmarked. The gold was acid tested and stays for at least 22k. There are small numbers hand engraved on the back, but their meaning is unknown (3 and 7).
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
Antique Indian jewelry is very difficult to find. Most of it was melted and some of the great gems were re-set into other styles. These earrings are a great prize for the collector as well as being perfect fashion accessories.
Emeralds of great quality from Columbia were readily available during the Mughal era.
