Antique Brooch Natural Pearl Certified 18k Gold Silver Diamonds Victorian (6578)

Antique Victorian Napoleon III brooch. 18k gold, silver, diamonds and a large, baroque natural pearl. Made in France, 19th century. Accompanied by certificate LFG no. 336369 of 19/4/2018 (French Gemological Society).

 

Measurements: Length of brooch is approximately 1 3/8 inches (3.5cm). Pearl is certified as 22.4 X 9.9 X 8.3 mm. Weighs 5.8 grams.

 

Description : Naturalistic, organic design, like a large fruit with a stem winding around it. The main body is a large natural baroque pearl, with a delightfully full shape like a ripe fruit. One side with Old European Cut diamonds forming leaves and flowers and then ribbons of rose cut diamonds winding around the pearl, like a twisting vine. C-clasp to the pin. A small gold loop indicates that the brooch could also be used as a pendant.

 

Typical of Victorian jewelry, the diamonds are set in silver with a gold backing.

 

Certificate states that pearl is a natural, saltwater pearl with no signs of treatment and color white/cream.

 

Came in an old leather jewelry pouch, which we will include as well.

 

Marks: French owl mark for 18k gold appears on the pin and on the gold side of the brooch.
