Antique Art Nouveau / Late Victorian Snake Tie Pin 14k Gold Peridot (5979)

Art Nouveau / Late Victorian tie pin. 14k yellow gold and peridot. Made circa 1890-1900.

Measurements: 2.5inches (6.5cm) long. Peridot is 1/2 inch (13mm) long. Weight of pin is 4.0 grams.

A hexagonal shaped peridot, worthy of a royal parure centers this magnificent tie pin. Colette set mount encircled by the body of a scaly snake that winds around itself and then dives down to parallel the pin at the back. Beautifully made in the style and period of Faberge.

Marks: there are no hallmarks, but we acid tested the gold which is at least 14k.
