Art Deco ring. 18k white gold, diamonds, peridot, garnet. Made in France circa 1930. Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.

Description : Exceptional Strong Art Deco design. Geometric design coupled with striking and unusual color contrasts. The flat rectangular bezel with canted corners, is a colette-set garnet of deep, burgundy reds. Colors flash bright and recede into shade as the light catches different areas. Sloping triangular shoulders are a wonderful filigre openwork design incorporating round peridot as their anchor-points and with diamond details. Only the very back is a simple unadorned shank. The area between the shoulders and bezel, like the buttresses of a Gothic cathedral, are openwork scrolling heart shapes forming a gallery, beneath a row of pave-set diamonds. Whichever angle you view this ring from, it is delightful and full of surprises. Rich in design combinations, strong shapes and the powerful contrast of red and green, it is a subtle eye-catcher. Suitable for a man or a woman.
