Antique Art Deco Scottish Terrier Scottie Dog brooch. 15k yellow gold, silver, diamonds. Made circa 1930 in United Kingdom (England). Unisex. Suitable for a man or a woman.

Measurements: Weight is 6.5 grams. Length approximately 1 1/2 inches (4cm). 55 Singlecut diamonds, totalling approximately 3.01 ct. Color approximately H-I with SI clarity.

Description : Naturalistically modelled Scottish Terrier dog - Scottie. Typical of antique jewelry, it is made of a layer of silver over a layer of gold. This is in order to show the diamonds off to better effect. Pave set diamonds with great gleam and shine are individually of a larger size than we usually see in work of this nature. Engraved detail to paws and chin. Pin with c-clasp. 15ct gold was almost exclusively used in England and was discontinued after about 1930, so it is safe to assume the place and date of this lovely little fellow. Very sturdy, as is his breed, the brooch is perfect to wear by anyone - man or woman and is very versatile - can be worn with a jeans jacket or a tuxedo.

Marks and Metal: The pin is marked 15Ct.
