Antique Art Deco ring. Platinum, sapphire and diamonds. Made in France circa 1920-30's. Certified by LFG - Laboratoire Francais de Gemmologie (French equivalent of the GIA).

Measurements: Weight is 3.6 grams. US size 6.25.
Certified sapphire 3.1ct (8.9Z7.2X3.9mm); origin Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and with no indications of heating.
Diamonds 0.34ct.

Description : Octogonal sapphire of a beautiful deep cornflower blue (certificate says intense violetish blue). Surrounded by a border of Old European cut diamonds and with a pair of diamonds on the shoulders. Mounted in platinum, with filigree borders and a low openwork grill / trellis. Simple platinum shank. The setting is classic, Art Deco sleekness and elegance.
The Art Deco era was considered to have produced the most outstanding workmanship in jewelry and this ring, with its fabulous materials and workmanship are a great example. From the cut to the color, from the stones to the setting, all is totally luxurious.

Marks and Metal: Maker's mark lozenge with initials R B. Dog head for 950 platinum used in France from 1912 - 1994.
