Antique Art Deco Brooch Platinum Gold Diamonds w Appraisal (6839)

Antique Art Deco brooch. 14k Gold, Platinum, diamonds. Made 1920's. Origin unknown.

 

Measurements: Weight is 6.9 grams. Length is 2 inches (49mm). 1.83ct diamonds.

 

Description : Wonderful Art Deco design that combines geometric form with stylised geometric flowers. Elongated hexagonal shape that tapers at the long ends. As much about the openwork and negative spaces as about the wonderful diamond filled design held in fine platinum filigree mount. Borders of rose cut diamonds, very finely set. Flowers with larger round centers containing old single cut diamonds surrounded by petals set with rose cuts. Brooch raised by a platinum gallery of stylised scrolling design. Gold, hinged pin. Wonderful design and top quality workmanship. A fine addition to any collection as wearable today as it was close on 100 years ago.

 

Marks and Metal: There is a mark on the gold pin that we have not yet identified. Both gold and platinum were electronically tested to ensure metal purity.
