Antique Victorian ring. 18ct gold, rubies and peridot. Made in England, United Kingdom circa 1890. Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.
Measurements: Weight is 3.5 grams. US size 8.25
Description : Striking ring with a cross of bright pink rubies in perpendicular lines, set in gold, surrounded by pale green peridot, contrasting strongly with the rubies and forming the perfect background. Well matched peridot and rubies. The peridot are so pale that they look like old mine cut diamonds in most light and from most angles.
Old cut stones with large, flat tables.
Simple shank widens to triangular, flat shoulders. Gems raised above the finger by an openwork gallery that allows light to enter from behind and add to the sparkle and gleam of the stones.
Well made, fabulous design. A small but very clear statement.
Unclear whether this is a Christian religious ring or simply a strong design, made of fine gems with a great look that works for both men or women.
