Description : Fabulous sugar loaf cabochon amethyst in an outstanding diamond mount. Workmanship of the highest order and quality.
The center of the bezel is a rectangle with canted corners containing a high sugarloaf amethyst. Lovely purple color with gleaming light and velvety deep tones, depending on where and how the light catches it. This gem is held up high off the finger by a border of baguette diamonds, placed parallel to one another and set vertically, like slender fingers holding up the trophy. Tiny gaps between the diamonds allows light to enter behind the amethyst and lights it from below. The vertical placement of the baguette diamonds is extremely elegant. Adding to the luxurious richness of this mount is the work on the shoulders, below the baguettes: pave set, small old mine cut round diamonds in a geometric design. Very classy piece of jewelry.

Marks and Metal: French Owl mark for 18k gold partially legible on shank. Ring was acid and electronically tested. Using an electronic metal tester, we learned that the shank is 18k gold and the bezel (upper part) is platinum.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
Certificate of appraisal available to new owner.
