Vintage pendant. 18k gold. Made in India, circa mid 20th century. Rajastan or Gujerat area. Unisex - suitable to be worn by a man or a woman.
Measurements: Length is 1 1/8 inch (3cm). Weight is 6.6 grams.
Description : Religious pendant to be worn by either a man or a woman. Rectangular in shape with a pair of very solid gold loops for threading with a gold chain or a cotton / silk thread. Repousse gold work. Beaded border. WIthin a scene depicting the Hindu gods Ganesh and Laxmi. Both of these popular gods bring good fortune to their followers. Ganesh is the god of auspicious beginnings and Laxmi represents wealth. Both represent success. A geometric pattern behind them and botanical themes in the surrounding area.
