Antique Victorian earrings. Pyrope garnets, diamonds, 18k gold. Made in France, circa 1880.
Independent appraisal.

Measurements: Weight is 5.1 grams. Circumference approximately a little under 1/2 inch (12mm). Appraisal: 2.26ct garnets; 1.19ct diamonds.

Description : Bright and cheerful, elegant, versatile and wearable pair of earrings. Wires easy to insert and comfortable to wear go through ear lobe and are secured with hinged clasp.
Centers of earrings are great pink-red (red-pink?) garnets surrounded by a ring of rose cut small diamonds, forming a lovely flower. These daisy-like flowers were very popular in France and known as Marguerites (Daisies). Garnets held in white metal prongs that we tested as platinum (see below). Prong settings allow maximum light to enter gems, resulting in lovely glow and gleam. Very well made.

Marks and Metal: Two French hallmarks marks on wires of each earring, include the owl mark indicate 18k gold. We do not recognise the 2nd mark. We tested the white metal small prongs with electronic Auracle AGT3, which showed them as platinum.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
